PURPOSE
APOKALYPTIC RAIDS was formed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1998 by Heavy Metal fans.
The band's references are the 1980's, when VENOM emerges. Sons of the New Wave
of British Heavy Metal, they united KISS' theatrics to the heaviness of BLACK
SABBATH and the aggression of MOTÖRHEAD and Hardcore Punk. At that time,
all the Power/Speed/Thrash/Death/Black Metal subgenres were created by great
names such as HELLHAMMER, BATHORY, SODOM, ONSLAUGHT, and in Brazil
VULCANO, DORSAL ATLÂNTICA, among many others.
Since then, the world has changed, music has evolved, but the "eighties" or "old school"
style became a recurring issue, showing that the most things change, the most they stay
the same. Heavy music has no expiration date, from rebellious teens to critical maturity.
Fast and visceral, yet heavy and introspective. But well produced in any case, vintage style;
simple yet hard to reproduce. Obscure, existential, pessimistic, niestszchean themes.

O APOKALYPTIC RAIDS foi fundado no Rio de Janeiro
em 1998 por fãs de Heavy Metal.
As referências da banda se situam na década de 80, quando
aparece o VENOM. Filhos
da New Wave of British Heavy Metal
, eles uniram a teatralidade do KISS com o peso do
BLACK
SABBATH e a agressividade do MOTÖRHEAD e do Punk Hardcore.
Naquele período, foram criados todos os sub-gêneros
Power/Speed/Thrash
/Death/Black Metal por grandes nomes como
HELLHAMMER, BATHORY,
SODOM, ONSLAUGHT, e no Brasil
representados por VULCANO,
DORSAL ATLÂNTICA e muitos outros.
De lá pra cá, o mundo mudou, a música evoluiu, mas o
"estilo oitentista" ou
"old school" é um tema recorrente, mostrando
que quanto mais as coisas mudam, mais
permanecem as mesmas. A boa
música pesada não tem data nem prazo de validade,
da rebeldia
adolescente a uma maturidade crítica.
Um som rápido e visceral, ao mesmo tempo que pesado e
introspectivo. Mas sempre muito
bem produzido, no estilo vintage; algo
simples porém difícil de reproduzir. Uma temática
igualmente obscura,
existencial, pessimista, nietzscheana.
