PURPOSE
The band's references date back to the late 1970's, when sons of the New Wave of British
Heavy Metal VENOM appeared. Uniting KISS' theatrics, to the heaviness of
BLACK SABBATH, and the aggression of MOTÖRHEAD and Hardcore Punk,
they took Metal to the next level, creating the Power/Speed/Thrash/Death/
Black Metal subgenres. Great bands followed, such as HELLHAMMER,
BATHORY, SODOM, ONSLAUGHT, MASTER, POSSESSED, and in Brazil
VULCANO and DORSAL ATLÂNTICA, among many others.
Despite the world changes since then, the eighties or old school Metal is now
a recurring issue, but seldom completely understood. Heavy music has no expiration date.
APOKALYPTIC RAIDS was formed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1998, by fans who lived that history.
Some songs date back from 1985.
Fast and visceral, yet heavy and introspective. Vintage and careful production. Simple, but
not easy to reproduce. Lyrics dealing with obscure, fantastic, existential, pessimistic,
niestszchean themes.
PROPOSTA
As referências da banda datam do final dos anos 70, quando surgiu o VENOM, filho
da New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Unindo a teatralidade do KISS com o peso
do BLACK SABBATH e a agressividade do MOTÖRHEAD e do Punk Hardcore, criaram
todos os sub-gêneros Power/Speed/Thrash/Death/Black Metal. Grandes bandas se seguiram
como HELLHAMMER, BATHORY, SODOM, ONSLAUGHT, MASTER, POSSESSED,
e no Brasil representados por VULCANO, DORSAL ATLÂNTICA entre muitos outros.
Apesar das mudanças no mundo desde então, o Metal anos 80 ou old school se
tornou hoje um tema recorrente, mas raramente bem entendido.
A música pesada não tem prazo de validade.
O APOKALYPTIC RAIDS foi fundado no Rio de Janeiro em 1998 por fãs de Heavy Metal
que viveram esta história. Algumas composições datam de 1985.
Um som rápido e visceral, ao mesmo tempo que pesado e introspectivo. Produção cuidadosa
no estilo vintage. Simples, porém difícil de reproduzir. Letras com temática igualmente
obscura, fantástica, existencial, pessimista, nietzscheana.
